Last year, I changed the way I organized coffee for the teachers and staff, and it made planning this event one hundred times easier. What am I talking about, my friends? A coffee cart. Hiring a coffee cart to come to us, instead of recruiting volunteers to drive to Starbucks and pick up 60+ lattes was the best decision I ever made.
Visit this post, for all the nitty-gritty coordination details. Here is the short version though. I created a SignUp Genius for parents to sign-up to sponsor coffee for a staff member. In addition, they could also purchase their morning coffee at drop-off. Not only did that cover the cost of the coffee cart, we actually made about $20! We had fabulous coffee and it didn’t come out of my Staff Appreciation budget!
After the staff ordered their caffeinated beverage of choice, they moseyed on over to the staff lounge where the Breakfast Bonanza awaited them. I needed to coordinate the coffee cart, so I recruited a parent volunteer to receive and arrange the food items as they were dropped off to the lounge. Getting a parent to volunteer before school can be challenging (we are all getting our kids ready for school, after all) so I offered to buy a latte for whomever agreed to help out.
